I didn’t intend to become a gluten free explorer; in 2014, after living a life riddled with stomach problems, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac disease. My diagnosis came just before I relocated to Washington, D.C. for the semester. Though not exactly an ideal time to transition to the gf life, the challenge grew as these three-months were followed by a semester abroad in the land of baguettes and croissants: France. Since then, I’ve been traveling in the US and abroad and have been (mostly) successful avoiding gluten. Through my journey, I’ve refined some general hacks that I will share with you here and will let you know about the cafés and restaurants I have tried in the hopes that this blog can be helpful to my fellow gluten free explorers. Pack your bags – let’s go!
